Pinch punch first of the month and all that.
I hope this new month is a good one for you. I just wanted to share with you a new development.
As well as writing and performing my own original songs I have developed a growing repertoire of Cover songs from 60's to modern pop hits which I play regularly as Busker but I am also looking to secure more private gigs like Weddings, private parties and functions....
It was exactly one year ago today that I took my guitar out into the City of Birmingham where I live, it was a beautiful sunny I was overcome with this massive urge to busk, so I did!
Yes, I just laid out my case on the floor like I had seen other buskers do and started playing.
I played for about 45 mins as I recall, just my own songs as I didn't really know any covers. I had a few people come over and tip me as well as give me the thumbs up, at the end I counted the cash..
I am working on my first single release for early 2015 and to accompany this I will also be releasing a video. This will be my first release so I am very excited as you can imagine.
The video is being lovingly hand drawn animated by the very talented Kingman Cheng andis going to really enhance the song which I'll reveal soon.
So for now here's a few sample frames as an appetiser of what's to come.
P.S. What do you think the video is going to be about?
I have recently had my music accepted on to the Richer sounds website, they run feature with Q magazine which gives artists to be featured in their awesome magazine and also be included in reviews and live events.
This is how it works...
Back in the day, I used to promote acoustic and open mic nights in and around the Midlands.
One night, the actor and director Nick Moran came in with the cast of a play he was starring in nearby and
After a while we got talking and he asked if he could get up and do a song.
'Of course, 'I said 'It's an Open mic!'
Do you want to hear how it went?
Over 12 years ago I used to host and promote Open mics in several different venues and now more recently I am performing at them to practice the craft of performing song.
I have noticed that what was true then is the same now and I would like to share with you what I consider to be good things to remember to make your performance stand out.
